A subsidiary of Sime Darby Industrial, CEL was first appointed as the Cat® dealer for Hong Kong and Macau in 1962. Today, we are the sole distributor of Cat equipment in seven PRC provinces, including Guangdong, Guangxi, Hainan, Fujian, Jiangxi, Hunan and Xinjiang, employing over 1,900 staff and operates over 70 branches and facilities. We are committed to delivering first class products and services for our customers.

China Engineer’s scope of business encompasses sales and rental of Cat equipment, after-sales support, as well as financial leasing and other value-added services such as training and assessment services. We provide over 20 types and 300 models of Cat equipment, catering to various industries such as road / highway construction, railway construction, building construction, infrastructure development, quarrying, mining, landfill, industrial and oil & gas as well as engines, generator sets and Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS) solutions for electricity, shipbuilding and petroleum sectors.

CEL offers a comprehensive range of Cat heavy equipment products from earth-moving tasks, road construction and paving, to building construction. In electrical power generation, CEL Power Systems is the Cat engine specialist in the design, fabrication and on-site commissioning of prime power installation. In marine power, CEL Power Systems is the Cat marine propulsion engine specialist whilst providing its customers a tailored power system package according to needs. 

In industrial power, CEL's Cat engines are widely used in industrial air compressors, fire pumps, aviation equipment and the mining industry. In oil & gas, CEL's Cat engines and generator sets offer reliable power for drilling, workover rigs and both living and emergency electricity. CEL also supplies Olympian type generator sets that provides clean and economical energy solution that cover prime or standby service, diesel fuel or propane and natural gas. 

CEL's inventory of parts covers Hong Kong and the mainland's service territories. Total parts inventories of 57,200 line items provide at least 85% parts availability off-the-shelf. 

Its advanced stock control system is connected directly to Caterpillar's worldwide parts supply system, providing real-time information ensuring efficiency and reliable supply. CEL's technical support personnel are trained specialists in their own field and they are equipped with advance tooling to meet customers' needs through in-house or on-site services. 

Through Caterpillar China Financial Leasing Co. Ltd., CEL offers competitive financing packages to facilitate their customers' equipment purchases.

These packages can be customised with flexible payment options to meet customers' specific needs. This financial leasing facility is to facilitate customers' cash flow and equipment management system. 

CEL's Cat Rental Store offers a comprehensive rental service of Cat equipment and complementary products. With competitive rental rates, reliable rental machines, fast delivery to sites and responsive support from CEL's extensive branch network, customers can benefit from minimal downtime and better profitability by renting equipment from CEL. 

CEL's Power Systems also provides rental packages for its electric power generators. 

CEL carries a wide selection of 'as is' and reconditioned used equipment as well as well-maintained rental roll-out Cat machines for sale. CEL's used equipment inventories are inspected and monitored by its team of highly trained and experienced service technicians.
