Tractors Malaysia Clinches Market Leadership

PETALING JAYA - 9 March 2018, Tractors Malaysia, the exclusive Caterpillar heavy equipment distributor under Sime Darby Industrial Sdn. Bhd. has emerged as the market leader in the heavy equipment sector in Malaysia for the year 2017*.
 
The achievement is owed largely to contracts clinched in the east Malaysian state of Sarawak, including the Pan Borneo Highway Sarawak and, as well as other key infrastructure projects in Sabah and in Peninsular Malaysia. Tractors Malaysia sold 26% more units in 2017 compared to 2016.
 
In addition, Tractors Malaysia recently signed a RM33 million contract to supply 54 units for the East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) project. The deal is expected to create further opportunities for Tractors Malaysia with the need for support and maintenance work throughout the 5-year project.
 
Tractors Malaysia’s supply of machines for the ECRL project will serve mainly the east coast areas of the project, namely; Kuala Terengganu, Dungun, Kemaman, and as well as the central region where the Gombak project site is located.
 
Commenting on the achievements, CK Teoh, Managing Director of Sime Darby Industrial Sdn. Tractors Malaysia will supply a fleet of construction and infrastructure equipment comprising hydraulic excavators, soil compactors, motor graders and asphalt pavers. The products will come bundled with Caterpillar’s Product Link, which enables accurate tracking of equipment performance including machine health and utilisation, and mixed fleet capabilities.
